Llano has been dubbed The Land of Legend and Lure. It is known as the “Deer Capital of Texas”, due to the abundance of white-tailed deer. This makes Llano a very popular destination for hunters during the fall-winter season.

Visitors can also find great fishing in the Llano River, and nearby Highland Lakes. Llano also has its share of historic buildings for history buffs to enjoy, with the entire downtown square having been declared a National Historic District.

Llano is now home to many world class ropers, and hosts rodeo events that draw people from all over the state.
