Hunt is located where the north and south forks of the Guadalupe River meet. It was named after the friend of the founder, Alvie Joy in 1912. The original residents were mostly farmers and shingle makers. Starting in the 1920’s, private camps popped up along the banks of the river, and continue to flourish.

One attraction that stands out in Ingram is the replica of Stonehenge. Referred to as Stonehenge II, it is 60% as tall as the original, and 90% as round.
