Info & Listings
Boerne is a quaint little town located on picturesque Cibolo Creek, thirty miles northwest of San Antonio. Originally called Tusculum after Cicero’s home in ancient Rome, Boerne was founded in 1851 by German settlers who named it after a German political writer.

Despite the introduction of new ethnic groups, Boerne’s German roots continue to define the culture of the town to this day, with several German community organizations still active, such as the such as the Boerne Village Band, which is the oldest German band in the world outside of Germany.

In and around Boerne, there are ample opportunities for fishing and hunting. The area offers world class wing shooting, with plentiful quail, pheasant, Hungarian partridge, chukar and mallard ducks. White tail and axis deer, wild boar and turkey can also be found in the area. Fly-fishing in nearby streams is also excellent. Perch, bass, catfish, and rainbow trout are all common to the area.

With its rich, historical German American culture, and its many outdoor activities, Boerne offers something for everybody.
